Apple's free iTunes app is the default music software choice for just about anyone with an Apple-branded iPod or iPhone. It turns out that also goes for buying music; the iTunes Store is now responsible for one-quarter of all music sales in the U.S. But Apple isn't known for letting the competition catch up.
